Fastest path
Open the eSIM delivery email on the same iPhone where you want to install the eSIM, then tap the “Install on iPhone” button. iOS / Android opens Settings with your eSIM details pre-filled — just tap Continue → Continue → Done. No QR, no typing.
The full steps below are for older devices, or for when you want to scan the QR from a different phone (e.g. install it on your iPhone using the QR on your laptop screen).
Or install manually
On your iPhone, open Settings, then scroll down and tap Cellular (or Mobile Data in some regions).
Find the “Add eSIM” option (sometimes shown as “Set up Cellular” on a brand-new device).
Choose “Use QR Code” and scan the code from our email — or tap “Enter Details Manually” and paste the SM-DP+ address and activation code.
iPhone asks you to name the new line (e.g. “Travel” or “Japan”). Tap Continue.
iPhone asks which line should handle calls, iMessage, and cellular data. Keep your home line for calls and switch Cellular Data to the new travel eSIM when you arrive.
Critical step — without this, your eSIM won't connect abroad. Settings → Cellular → tap the new eSIM line → toggle ON “Data Roaming”. The line is local to the carrier but to your phone it's still a foreign network, so roaming must be enabled.
You need Wi-Fi to download the eSIM profile. Install at home, then keep the line OFF until you land. Turn it on in Settings → Cellular only when you arrive — the validity clock starts when the line first connects to a network.
